The Israel Defense Forces eliminated multiple Hamas operatives in southern Gaza who were allegedly planning to seize humanitarian aid convoys, military officials said Thursday, marking the latest effort to secure aid routes in the war-torn region.

The overnight precision strikes targeted armed militants at two locations along humanitarian corridors in southern Gaza, following intelligence reports of planned interference with aid deliveries, according to an IDF spokesperson. The military emphasized that no aid trucks were damaged in the operation, and supply routes remain operational.

"These individuals were planning to violently commandeer humanitarian aid trucks and divert resources to Hamas for terrorist activities," said the IDF in a statement, noting similar incidents have occurred previously. The military said the action was necessary to ensure aid reaches civilian populations.

Military sources indicated that the precision strikes were conducted in accordance with international law, with COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) continuing to facilitate humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza residents.

The IDF maintains it is taking precautions to minimize civilian casualties while targeting Hamas infrastructure and personnel, as international pressure mounts to protect humanitarian operations in the region.
