Israel Fears Palestinian Authority Collapse Could Trigger Surge in Terrorism
Israel warns: Following Assad's regime collapse, Palestinian Authority could be next
Israel is concerned that the Palestinian Authority (PA) may collapse, similar to the fall of the Assad regime in Syria. The Israeli defense establishment is closely monitoring increasing internal unrest and destabilizing efforts within the PA, fearing that its collapse could trigger a surge of terrorism.

Military correspondent Doron Kadosh of Galei Tzahal reported that the defense establishment is focusing on key developments that could threaten the PA’s stability, according to Israel National news reports.
Recent clashes between PA security forces and militants from terrorist groups in Jenin and Tulkarm are being observed, though currently limited to northern Samaria. There is concern that these incidents may spread elsewhere. Additionally, growing social media incitement, especially from Hamas, is encouraging Palestinians to protest against the PA, further exacerbating instability. Iran, having seen its influence in the region wane, is also attempting to destabilize Judea and Samaria, likely aiming to capitalize on the situation.
Defense officials expressed their concern to Galei Tzahal, emphasizing that the unfolding unrest could lead to a rapid deterioration, echoing the events in Syria. A collapse of the PA, they warned, could trigger widespread terrorism and result in a complete breakdown of stability.
