According to Saudi media reports, Hamas has handed over a list of the hostages it is holding to mediators. The information was shared in a report by Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya on Tuesday evening.

Earlier on the same day, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, and Shin Bet head, Ronen Bar, returned from a trip to Cairo. Kan News reported that the two officials traveled to the Egyptian capital to discuss "regional security issues."

Last week, Egypt proposed a new agreement that would involve a phased cessation of hostilities in Gaza. Under this proposal, the IDF would withdraw from the Rafah Crossing in exchange for a 60-day temporary ceasefire declaration. One week after the ceasefire begins, live Israeli hostages would begin to be returned. At the same time, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel would be released, according to Israel National news reports.

During the 60-day ceasefire, Israel would maintain a military presence in Gaza, and the Rafah Crossing would come under the supervision of the Palestinian Authority.
