The Israel Dog Unit, a nonprofit organization specializing in search-and-rescue operations with working dogs, located the body of Boris Shuster on Monday, ending a four-day search.
Shuster, 68, a retired engineer from Ofakim, disappeared last Thursday after leaving his home for a routine run and failing to return.
The search effort, described as massive, involved official emergency services, volunteer groups, and local community members. Hundreds of participants utilized horses, dogs, drones, helicopters, ATVs, and advanced equipment, working tirelessly through Shabbat in hopes of finding him alive.
During the operation, the ISA and IDF dismissed the possibility of a terrorist infiltration from nearby Gaza, while the Israel Police ruled out any criminal involvement in Shuster's disappearance.
