Prof. Haggai Levin, a physician for the families of the captives, commented on the video of Matan Tzangauker from captivity in Gaza and revealed the medical condition of most of the captives.
In an interview with Radio 103FM, Levin said: "We saw the video of Matan (Tsangauker), we see that he is very pale, struggling to speak, and very thin, and he is probably one of those in a relatively better condition."
Professor Levin noted that "according to all the information we have, the hostages are in immediate danger of death." Their ability to survive a second winter in captivity, with hunger, lack of water, lack of oxygen, lack of light, conditions of abuse, exposure to infectious diseases, and even the mention of being given rats and spiders, their ability to survive under these conditions is limited, and every passing day is a life-threatening risk.
He emphasized that "what I am trying to do is illustrate the medical urgency everywhere and at all times." I sometimes encounter denial of the truth. Those who are responsible sometimes simply do not want to hear the truth, they prefer to evade it or think that they are already dead or think that they still have time.
"Even those who have survived until now may not necessarily survive another day, another week, another month, and therefore I truly say – the time is now." There will be an agreement in the end, but every day that passes is a real life-threatening danger.
