Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a press conference today (Monday) where he stressed the importance of holding onto the Golan Heights "forever" as a guarantee of Israeli security against threats from Syria.
Netanyahu also explained that the decision to eliminate Hassan Nasrallah was a key decision to weaken Iran's "axis" as Nasrallah was the "axis of the axis" and therefore needed to be eliminated.
The Prime Minister said that Israel is "changing the map of the Middle East" and that Israel "wants to see a different Syria" both for the sake of the Syrian people and Israel, and that Israel extends its hand in peace for those who want to live in peace with Israel and will "cut off the hand" of those who seek to harm Israel.
He said that Israel is winning thanks to three things. First, thanks to the heroism of the soldiers. Second, thanks to the national strength of Israel's citizens. Third, thanks to the standing firm against all demands to end the war before the country achieved all its aims.
Netanyahu said that "Hamas is now more isolated than ever" due to the weakening of Hezbollah, Iran, and the fall of the Assad regime. This creates the opening for a deal which will bring back Israel's hostages.
Netanyahu said that Israel still faces great challenges, but that he has great faith that Israel will succeed.
