A hostage deal is reportedly moving much more quickly apace now that Assad has fallen, with reports coming in of lists of people to be released and no precondition of ending the war.

The Qatari al-Araby outlet reported today (Monday) that Hamas has provided Egypt with a list of names of hostages to be released in the first phase of the negotiated hostage deal.

According to the report, Israel has agreed to withdraw from key points within the Gaza Strip a week after the ceasefire starts, including from the Rafah crossing and from several places along the north-south Saladin Road. The hostages will be released at the same time.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had told a number of hostage groups that he believes the fall of Bashar Assad has created the potential for a hostage deal on terms acceptable to Israel.
