Representatives from Syria's Kurdish community have recently reached out to Israeli officials through multiple communication channels, seeking assistance and protection amidst the escalating turmoil in their country.

This appeal comes as the regime of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has collapsed, with Islamist rebel forces steadily taking control of larger areas.

Earlier today, Turkish-backed Syrian rebel forces launched attacks on Kurdish positions in the Manbij region, located in northern Syria, northeast of Aleppo. Israel, recognizing the Kurdish community as a Western-oriented and strategic ally, has been working closely with European and American partners to secure Kurdish interests in the face of Syria's rapidly changing landscape.

With the growing dominance of Sunni jihadist factions and the intensifying civil war, the situation has led to increasing security concerns and political uncertainty. In response, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has been actively engaging in discussions with his European and U.S. counterparts, highlighting the importance of supporting the Kurds in this volatile environment.
