Hamas has reportedly provided Egyptian mediators with an initial list of hostages who could be part of a potential exchange deal, according to a report by the London-based Qatari newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed on Monday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The list is said to include four hostages holding American citizenship, as well as elderly individuals and those with medical conditions. Additionally, Hamas reportedly submitted a separate list of Palestinian prisoners it seeks to have released as part of the negotiations.
On Sunday, a Hamas delegation led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya traveled to Cairo to engage in talks regarding the hostage deal, which the report described as being in an "advanced stage."
The newspaper also claimed that an Israeli delegation is expected to arrive in Cairo on Monday for further discussions.
