Repeat of October 7th: Hezbollah's plan to infiltrate northern Israel uncovered

Newly obtained video footage and documents reveal that Hezbollah had laid the groundwork for a large-scale attack on northern Israel, one that could have mirrored the Hamas assault on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. According to an IDF intelligence official, the plans have been largely neutralized.

"Hezbollah has been planning their own 10/7," the IDF official told Fox News Digital. "The plan has been effectively eliminated. We dismantled the high-level command of Radwan," referring to Hezbollah's elite Radwan force.

The details of the attack emerged through the interrogation of a Hezbollah terrorist, captured in mid-October in the Lebanese village of Aita al-Shaab, and an analysis of the group's military strategies. The captured terrorist revealed chilling insights into Hezbollah's "Conquer the Galilee" operation, which aimed to infiltrate Israel.

In a video-recorded interrogation, the terrorist described the goal as "occupying the Galilee" and spoke of plans to launch a massive assault involving thousands of rockets and missiles. He also detailed Hezbollah's brutal approach toward Israeli civilians. "Those they encounter, we’ll fight. Face to face, us and them, and those who want to surrender can do just that," the captured militant said. "We take those who surrender as prisoners and bring them into Lebanon." Those who refused to surrender would face execution, he said.

In addition to the captured testimony, Fox News Digital obtained documents outlining Hezbollah's planned raids on Israeli towns, including Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, and Tiberias. The documents, found in Kfar Blida, Lebanon, also included strategies for air defense and tactics to counter Israeli aircraft during operations. Some of the documents appeared to be dated training exercises, with one attack scenario specifically labeled as January 1, 2018.

According to the IDF official, Hezbollah's "Conquer the Galilee" plan had its roots in a 2011 strategy developed by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF official stated, "Nasrallah’s 2011 plan to conquer the Galilee was massive. We destroyed their infrastructure and set them back a few decades. This plan can never be allowed to become practical again."
