Meanwhile, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated today that IDF troops are present in the area of Syria. Defense sources say that the IDF is working to create a buffer zone across the border with Syria to protect against any terrorist infiltration.

The Air Force has also been working to strike and destroy any and all Syrian sites believed to contain strategic and perhaps even chemical weapons to prevent it from falling into rebel or terrorist hands.
