IDF strikes Syrian strategic weapons in Damascus airport

As Syrians celebrate the end of the Assad regime and rebel forces take over the rest of the country, the IDF is still trying to destroy weapons that might otherwise fall into the wrong hands.

A short time ago today (Sunday), the IDF struck a cache of strategic weapons in Mezzeh air base in the Syrian capital of Damascus. Mezzeh is an airbase that has been used by Iran to provide proxy armies with weapons and supplies.

Although the Iran-friendly Assad regime has fallen, Israel remains very concerned about the rebels' intentions, and the IDF has worked hard to destroy any and all strategic weapons belonging to Bashar Assad before they fall into rebel hands, as well as warning anti-Assad forces to stay clear of the Israeli border in the Golan.
