The negotiations continue: After the talks held in Cairo, new details were revealed this evening (Thursday) about the new Egyptian proposal for a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas. This is in preparation for the departure of a senior Israeli delegation to Egypt to discuss the details of the emerging deal.
According to a report by Channel 12 News correspondent Yaron Avraham, the new outline speaks of only a partial deal, in which Israel will also not declare the end of the war in advance. Despite this, Israeli officials said that both the Qataris and the Egyptians believe Hamas will agree to enter accelerated negotiations on the deal, "due to a series of new conditions in the region."
It was also reported that the proposed framework still includes the list of hostages classified as humanitarian: women, the injured, the sick, adults, and the elderly. The number of hostages under discussion is less than 33 – which was the number of living hostages that Israel demanded to release a few months ago. In return, Israel will release hundreds of terrorists – including heavy-duty murderers serving life sentences in Israel. According to the report, at this stage the keys to the release have not yet been determined.
