For the first time since the beginning of the rebel offensive in Syria last week, it was reported today (Thursday) in Syria that Israel carried out an airstrike in northern Syria last night, in an area near the rebels' new control zone. According to reports, the strike was carried out southeast of Aleppo, in an area still controlled by Assad. Advanced weapon depots were attacked, according to the report by Doron Kadosh.
It was also reported that it seems to be a weapon that Israel did not want to fall into the hands of the rebels, if they advance and take control of that area. This is the first time since the beginning of the rebel offensive in northern Syria that Israel has carried out an airstrike in the area, which has a direct connection to the events.
This is after Israel has not intervened militarily in events in Syria until now, but it is also concerned with preserving its interests and ensuring that the new developments in the Syrian arena do not negatively affect Israel in the immediate term.
