Amit Segal: Hezbollah's latest attack is a good sign - here's why

Veteran commentator and reporter Amit Segal said this evening (Monday) that Hezbollah's attack on Mount Dov is actually a very good sign for Israeli defense policy and deterrence.

According to Segal, the fact that no cabinet meeting or security meeting was convened over the attack suggests that Israel has already planned for Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire and already has plans ready to deal with them - with the aim of preventing "proportionate" tit-for-tat.

Both the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister said that Israel would respond "powerfully" to any Hezbollah violation of the ceasefire, and a number of air and artillery strikes have already been carried out in southern Lebanon, with reportedly more to come.
