The Prime Minister's wife, Sara Netanyahu, met with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday night, for a meal at the golf club he owns at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Netanyahu is currently in Miami as part of her visit to her son Yair, who has been living there for the past few years.

In an Instagram post, Netanyahu recounted the meeting, saying, "I met at a dinner at President-elect Donald Trump's golf club, to which I was invited. I congratulated the president on his historic victory in the elections."

"During the meeting, which was warm and friendly, we discussed many issues, including the strong friendship between Israel and the United States and the importance of continuing to nurture the special relationship between our countries," she added. "I raised with the president the great suffering that our country went through on October 7, and the inhumanity of the Hamas terrorists, who are holding our abducted citizens in harsh conditions. I emphasized the great urgency to work for their release and their speedy return."

She also noted in her conclusion that "we also discussed the strategic importance of Israel's victory in the war against the axis of evil, for the sake of a more stable and secure future in the Middle East and the entire world."
