National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated on Sunday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was beginning to show openness to the idea of encouraging Palestinian migration out of Gaza.
Speaking to Army Radio, Ben-Gvir expressed support for re-establishing Jewish settlements in Gaza, calling it "a significant step" but emphasizing it was not enough.
“We must remember that this could be the greatest punishment for what was done to us on October 7,” Ben-Gvir said. “The only times we’ve truly defeated our enemies were when we took territory from them. Conquering Gaza is definitely on the table, but it’s not sufficient in itself.”
Ben-Gvir suggested facilitating voluntary migration for Palestinians to other countries. “I saw a man on TV in Gaza pleading to be allowed to leave,” he said. “I believe many feel the same way. I’m working hard to persuade the prime minister that this is the right path, and I’m beginning to see some willingness on his part. I hope he comes to understand that this is the only real solution.”
