Staff Sergeant Zamir Burke, commander of the 601st Engineering Battalion fell last Friday in the northern Gaza Strip, while valiantly defending the security of the State of Israel and its residents.

Zamir Burke, 20, was the 16th soldier from the city of Beit Shemesh to fall in the current war. He fell as a result of an anti-tank missile being fired at the D-9 in which he was traveling in Jabaliya.

At 6:00 AM EST / 12:00 PM Israel, his funeral will take place at Har Herzl.

May his memory be a blessing and may his family be comforted together with the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
