We'll See If It's Actually Serious

A senior Palestinian source talking to al-Mayadeen today (Thursday) said that Hamas representatives are set to meet in Cairo to discuss a new Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.

A previous report suggested that an Egyptian team was set to meet with Israeli representatives to discuss such a proposal, but this report turned out to be mistaken.

The New York Times reports that the deal may include at least a temporary presence of the IDF along the Philadelphi Corridor.

The IDF continues to operate in the Gaza Strip, especially in the Jebaliya and Beit Lahia areas, eliminating terrorists and dismantling terrorist infrastructure and units.
