Beilinson Hospital reports that a life-saving cesarean section was performed on a mother at 32 weeks of pregnancy. The baby's life was saved, however, despite the efforts of the hospital staff, the mother died.
The baby was transferred to the Schneider Children's Medical Center for further hospitalization and her condition is stable and good.
The hospital said: "We share the deep sorrow of the family members. Earlier this week, a double tragedy occurred after birth: two babies died hours after coming into the world at Soroka and Ichalov hospitals. In the first case, which took place on Tuesday, the Tel Aviv Ichilov Medical Center announced that a newborn born at night on time deteriorated rapidly, a few hours after her birth. Despite intensive and rapid treatment of the newborn and despite resuscitation efforts, the doctors were forced to pronounce her dead. The hospital also said that it was investigating the circumstances of the case and reported it to the Ministry of Health.
In the second case, a baby died a few hours after birth due to placental abruption. Despite the rapid treatment of the woman and her birth, the doctors were forced to pronounce the baby dead.
