MK Yithzak Pindrus, leader of the UTJ Knesset faction, has reportedly gotten the signatures of dozens of ministers and Knesset Members for a petition to President Herzog to pardon Eli Feldstein and the reserve NCO involved in the case.
The petition states that "the current reality in Israeli society requires particular caution. The continued legal proceedings against them are a real threat to social cohesion at this critical moment for the State of Israel."
It then says that "given the pure intentions of the accused who worked for the security of the State of Israel, and their exceptional devotion to the State of Israel, we call for considering granting full, one-time pardons to these young people."
