After diplomatic chill, Netanyahu and Macron connect

The French government has taken a confrontational line toward Israel, but in recent days, Netanyahu and Macron have spoken in an attempt to lower the flames.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke in recent days, a conversation that was defined as a "reconciliation talk" between the two countries, and led to a reconciliation between the two countries, as reported on Channel 13 News on Monday evening.

France is one of the European countries leading the harsh confrontational line against the State of Israel throughout the recent period. Since the beginning of the war, and especially after Israel's entry into terror nests in southern Lebanon, France has echoed the call to stop Israel from attacking Gaza and Lebanon and to end the war.

As if that were not enough, after France claimed the independence of the ICC with the issuance of arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, relations between Israel and France deteriorated even further.

Now, an attempt has been made to calm the situation by means of a phone call between the leaders of the countries. According to a report on Channel 13 News, Macron claimed in the conversation that France "respects the independence of the court," but added that there is a possibility of using diplomatic auspices for leaders who come to the country. However, Netanyahu is not expected to make a diplomatic visit to Paris anytime soon.
