Did Katz mean that Hezbollah should be entirely disarmed?

Following his statement today (Wednesday) that Hezbollah's disarmament is a non-negotiable Israeli war aim for any ceasefire, sources close to the Defense Minister said Katz meant disarmament south of the Litani River, not in the whole of Lebanon.

Katz had said while visiting the northern front that Israel considers there to be three non-negotiable conditions for an end to the war: the disarmament of Hezbollah, its withdrawal north of the Litani River, and the IDF having a free hand to retaliate in the event of any ceasefire violation.

US Envoy Amos Hochstein will likely be heading to Lebanon with a proposal in this vein in the coming days, though questions remain as to whether Hezbollah will accept the offer.
