In a speech at the Arab and Islamic summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Abbas urged both the UN Security Council and the General Assembly to suspend Israel’s membership as long as it continues to violate international law and fail to meet its obligations. He accused Israel of committing "crimes" against the Palestinian people and called for accountability.

Abbas also appealed to Arab nations to reconsider their relationships with Israel, warning against normalizing ties with the country due to its ongoing violations of international law. He further called for the implementation of a UN General Assembly resolution demanding sanctions on Israel, urging it to end its occupation and halt settlement expansion within one year, in line with a ruling by the International Court of Justice.
