In light of the pogrom against Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in the Netherlands, the National Security Headquarters is issuing a warning tonight and listing the destinations that Israelis are advised not to visit.
According to the announcement: "In recent days, various calls have been identified among pro-Palestinian organizations/supporters of terrorist organizations to harm Israelis and Jews, under the guise of protest demonstrations and by exploiting gathering points (sports and cultural events) to maximize harm and media exposure. Additionally, there are identified plans to harm Israelis in several cities in Europe, including Brussels (Belgium), major cities in the UK, Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Paris (France – around the expected match of the Israeli national team on November 14)."
It was further written that "in light of the dynamics of these events – the organization of independent actors in the online space, their widespread presence in various countries around the world, practical experience in holding demonstrations and protests (some of which are violent), and the concern that supporters of terrorism/independent attackers will try to integrate into these riots with the aim of carrying out an attack."
In the IDF, several instructions were published, including:
1. In the coming week, avoid altogether attending sports games/cultural events with Israeli participation abroad. With an emphasis on the upcoming match of the Israeli national team in Paris (November 14).
2. Stay away from demonstrations and protests of any kind.
3. Immediately inform the local security forces of any threat/attack incident.
4. Be particularly careful to conceal signs of Israeli/Jewish identity, including when ordering taxis/cars through apps (for example, using a third-party entity such as a receipt from the hotel where you are staying).
5. Conduct a check before the trip to see if there are areas/sites at the destination prone to disturbances – protests, riots, high crime rates, a population of immigrants from countries hostile to Israel.
