Air Force fighter jets, guided by precise intelligence from Military Intelligence, the Shin Bet, and the Southern Command, conducted a targeted strike yesterday (Saturday) and eliminated the terrorist Muhammad Abu Sakhil, the operations officer of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Sakhil operated in a command and control facility that previously served as the "Fahd Al-Sabach" school in the northern Gaza Strip.
The terrorist Abu Sakhel was a central figure for the terrorist organization PFLP in planning and executing terror plots, in formulating situational assessments, and in coordinating terror actions with the terrorist organization Hamas against the citizens of the State of Israel and the IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF says that before the attack, many measures were taken to reduce the likelihood of harming civilians, including aerial reconnaissance and precise intelligence information. This is another example of the systematic use of infrastructure and the civilian population by terrorist organizations in the Strip as human shields for terrorist activities.
