Three suspects impersonating police officers stop a vehicle, stab the victim, and are arrested by Border Police fighters. This morning, an indictment and prosecutor's statements were filed against the suspects.
About two weeks ago, three suspects traveled together in a civilian vehicle on Highway 1 near the Latrun Junction, ordered the crime victim to stop on the roadside while impersonating a police patrol using a loudspeaker and flashing lights.
After the victim stopped on the roadside, two suspects got out of the vehicle and identified themselves as police officers. Subsequently, a third suspect got out and stabbed the victim multiple times in various areas of his body, while one of the suspects was armed with a gun.
A team of fighters from the Tactical Brigade of the Border Police, moving along the route, noticed a victim by the roadside, provided life-saving first aid, and submitted an initial report on the incident.
Following the report received, an extensive investigation was initiated at the Mateh Yehuda station of the Jerusalem Border Police, during which a variety of advanced technological investigative methods were employed. After an investigative effort by the station's Investigations and Intelligence Division, Border Guard fighters arrested the three suspects in Qalqilya for further investigation at the Mateh Yehuda station.
This morning, after the investigation was completed at the Mateh Yehuda station of the Jerusalem Border Police, a serious indictment was filed against one of the defendants, which includes several charges, among them: conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated assault by two or more armed individuals, impersonating a public servant in concert, and threats in concert.
Against the two additional suspects, a prosecutor's statement and a request for detention until the end of proceedings were submitted. Additionally, the vehicle used by the suspects was confiscated.
