IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has reportedly approved operational plans for the IDF to move deeper into Lebanon and further degrade and destroy Hezbollah capabilities, according to Kann News.

While senior defense officials had previously been prepared to declare the IDF's maneuvering phase in Lebanon over, the army has now changed tack, approving plans to further advance into the country.

It is unknown how related this decision is to the replacement of Defense Minister Gallant with Israel Katz, who is considered to be more hawkish and who declared recently that Hezbollah has been effectively defeated.

The IDF said that in the event that Israel arrives at a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon and Hezbollah, it will be able to quickly redeploy along the border in accordance with the agreement.
