Yuli Edelstein, the Likud MK who heads the important Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, posted on X today (Tuesday) that he met with EU Ambassadors regarding the law banning UNRWA.
The law, which was passed by a second and third vote last week, bans UNRWA from operating in Israeli territory and forbids all government agencies from working with UNRWA.
This law and others like it were passed following the discovery of a number of UNRWA employees who took part in the October 7th Massacre, as well as the large number of employees with terrorist ties and the abuse of UNRWA infrastructure for terrorist purposes.
Edelstein said that he told the EU ambassadors why Israel decided to ban UNRWA and where the country intends to go from here in handling humanitarian matters. He further said that while the discussion was "fruitful and on point," he insisted throughout that UNRWA is not coming back to Israel.
