Israeli military officials issued an urgent evacuation warning to Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza earlier this morning (Tuesday) dropping leaflets over the Beit Lahia region that declared the Jabalia area unsafe for habitation.
"Your lives are in danger," the leaflets warned residents still sheltering in Jabalia, directing them to evacuate immediately southward along Salah al-Din Street, the main north-south thoroughfare through the Gaza Strip. The military emphasized that any other evacuation routes could put civilians at risk.
The IDF is intensifying its military operations in central Gaza: Israeli Reserve Brigade 179 conducted a significant operation over the weekend in and around Nuseirat, a major urban area in central Gaza. Military sources report that the operation resulted in the elimination of over 40 Hamas militants and yielded valuable intelligence for ongoing operations.
In June, the same area made headlines when it was the site of a successful hostage rescue operation that freed four Israeli captives: Noa Argamani, Almog Meir, Andrei Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv. That mission, which claimed the life of Israeli soldier Arnon Zmora, was renamed "Operation Arnon" in his memory.
The Israeli military has also reported significant territorial gains in establishing a buffer zone along Gaza's perimeter.
Division 252, under Brigadier General Yehuda Vach's command, has expanded the security corridor from its original 2.5 kilometers to approximately 7 kilometers in depth from the border fence to the Mediterranean Sea. This zone now stretches from the northern neighborhoods of Shuja'iyya and Zeitoun south to Nuseirat, and is a substantial expansion of the Israeli military's operational area.
