If Only He'd Do That With The Militias

NIMBY! Iraqi PM trying to keep Iran from launching attack on its soil

The hope is that this will prevent Israel from retaliating against Iraqi targets in the event Iran launches a third missile and drone strike from Iraqi soil.

A senior member of the body uniting the Shiite parties in Iraq told the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese outlet al-Akhbar today (Tuesday) that the Iraqi Prime Minister is increasing his efforts to get Israel not to strike Iraq, in exchange for Iran not using Iraqi territory to launch its attack.

The Iraqi Prime Minister himself recently said that he is doing what he can to prevent Iraq being used as a proxy country by either Israel or Iran in the fight between them.

Pro-Iranian Iraqi militias have recently increased the pace of long-range drones launched from Iraq towards Israel, and IDF reports of drone interceptions "from the east" - which means Iraq or Yemen - have increased in the last few days.

Israeli sources have repeatedly affirmed to Israeli media that they believe an attack is coming, and that it may come not only from Iran but also from Iraq, Yemen, and other directions, perhaps simultaneously.
