Preparing for recruitment: The IDF Spokesperson confirmed that the status of establishing the Haredi brigade, the "Hasmoneans" Brigade, was presented today (Monday) to Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi. This is part of the staff work being conducted in the IDF for the recruitment of Haredim.
The discussion was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Commander of the Ground Forces, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, the Head of the Combat Support Branch, and Colonel Avinoam Emuna, who is leading the establishment of the brigade.
According to the army's announcement, the recruitment processes for the command staff and the establishment of the infrastructure to accommodate the recruits of the first company during the month of December have been completed so far.
As a reminder, in recent months the IDF has issued more than 1,000 initial orders to young Haredim as part of the effort to expand recruitment. However, only about 70 of those summoned arrived at the recruitment offices, which constitutes about 5 percent of those who were sent summonses.
The IDF stated that the Recruitment Bureau has made adjustments that allow for selection processes tailored to the Haredi lifestyle, including the expansion of the selection staff and the gender-specific medical staff. Additionally, for the first time, the IDF conducted DAP tests and interviews tailored to the Haredi community.
