An Israeli Air Force fighter jet carried out a targeted strike in Jouaiyya, southern Lebanon, eliminating Jaafar Khader Faour, a senior Hezbollah commander overseeing the Nasser Unit's missile and rocket operations, as well as the unit’s drone array.
Faour, responsible for a series of attacks originating in eastern Lebanon, directed the first rocket launches into Israeli territory on October 8. His role as head of the Nasser Unit’s missile and rocket operations involved orchestrating numerous attacks on both the Israeli home front and IDF forces.
Among Faour’s coordinated attacks were several that caused significant Israeli casualties: a deadly assault on civilians in Kibbutz Ortal, a strike on Majdal Shams that killed 12 young people and left many injured, and the recent rocket attack on Metula, which claimed the lives of five civilians last Thursday.
