Experiencing Leadership Difficulties

Qatar: Who's in charge in Gaza? Apparently no-one

Qatar, one of the main mediators of hostage negotiations, say they have tried and failed to determine who in Hamas in Gaza has the power to make promises for a deal - so far, without success.

Qatar, the primary mediator of hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas, is reportedly struggling to determine who among the Hamas leaders in Gaza has the authority to make a deal and release hostages, so far without success, according to Kann reporter Roi Kais.

The fact that Qatari leaders cannot find who's in charge in Gaza despite being in constant contact with Hamas and having a long time relationship with the organization suggests that Hamas continues to struggle to rebuild its leadership following the elimination of Yahya Sinwar by the IDF.

Meanwhile, those Hamas leaders who do remain have been unequivocal in rejecting any ceasefire proposal which does not involve an end to the war and a full IDF retreat, including recent proposals for partial ceasefires and hostage and prisoner exchanges.
