The IDF struck Hezbollah weapons storage sites and command posts a short time ago today (Thursday) in the al-Qusayr area in the Homs governate area of Syria. Syrian opposition sources report at least five dead in the strikes.

The IDF has been stepping up its efforts in the past few months to interdict and destroy all efforts to transfer weapons, fuel, and money to Hezbollah in Lebanon, especially with intelligence-based air strikes.

As Hezbollah's armaments Unit 4400 has increased its efforts to smuggle weapons and war materiel via the Syrian-Lebanese border, the IDF has increased strikes to destroy it.

According to reports, one of the conditions Israel has presented the United States for any ceasefire in southern Lebanon is a free hand to maintain an effective partial blockade of Lebanon by land, sea, and air to prevent Hezbollah from rearming and resupplying.
