After being injured on Simchat Torah: IDF reservist Yedidya Bloch succumbs to his wounds 

Yedidya Bloch was a resident of Mevo Horon, who passed away today after being seriously injured in southern Lebanon on Simchat Torah (Thursday).

Yedidya Bloch, an IDF reservist from Mevo Horon, was seriously injured in a battle in southern Lebanon on the morning of Simchat Torah, and today (Tuesday), he died of his wounds.

Yedidya, 32, is survived by his wife Sapir, eight months pregnant, as well as his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

The head of the Binyamin Regional Council, Israel Gantz, said, "For all these days, we prayed for our dear friend. He went into battle with self-sacrifice and lived a noble life and fought and died for the people of Israel and for its complete victory. We embrace his wife Sapir, as well as his parents and brothers and ask to strengthen the community of Mevo Horon. It is because of Yedidya that the people of Israel will overcome and win ".

Funeral details will be announced later.

Bloch is the fifth casualty this week from the Benjamin Regional Council. Rabbi Major Aviram Hariv (from Dolev) fell a week ago, Staff Sgt. Yishai Mann (from Mitzpe Yericho) was killed in a road accident close to Gaza border while Aviad Neiman and Aviv Gilboa fell in battle in southern Lebanon. May their memories be a blessing.
