Minister and war cabinet member Gideon Saar fired a warning shot today (Sunday) at Syrian leader Bashar Assad, threatening him to cease allowing Syrian territory to be used to supply Hezbollah with weapons used against the IDF and Israel.
In a statement he released today, Saar said that Israel "missed an opportunity" during the Syrian Civil War to "collapse" Assad's regime, which was "saved" by Iran and Hezbollah.
Now, he said that Syria must not be allowed "under any circumstances to be a conduit for weapons supply from Iran to Hezbollah." The New Right leader said that "Israel must make clear to Assad that if he chooses to harm Israeli security in this manner - he places his regime in danger."
The IDF has already been operating in Syria, according to foreign sources, using air strikes inside Syrian territory and along the Syria-Lebanon border to destroy weapons shipments to Hezbollah throughout Lebanon and eliminate Iranian officers involved in smuggling weapons to the terrorist organization.
