Eli Carmeli was released today (Sunday) from six months of administrative detention in Ayalon prison, and met his four-month-old daughter for the first time- she was born while he was in prison.

Camreli's prolonged administrative detention was in addition to two additional arrest warrants imposed on him by Minister Gallant about a year and a half ago for a period of seven months in total. Now, Carmeli has spent more than a year in administrative detention without trial.

Upon his release from prison, prison officers handed Carmeli a new administrative order from Central Command Major General Avi Blot. According to this new order, Carmeli may not enter Judea and Samaria for another six months - including his home in Givat Ronan.
