In the last hour (Sunday) a heavy barrage was launched into the Galilee region from Lebanon, as a result of which a fire broke out in a building in Tamra.
The fire and rescue spokeswoman said: "Following the latest barrage to the Galilee, a report was received of a direct hit to a building in Tamera, a fire broke out on the spot, [there is] damage to the building and nearby vehicles."
Commander Maor Hanan added, "Teams are currently engaged in extinguishing the fire and searching for those trapped."
The MDA reported that a person was seriously injured during this barrage. In addition, at another scene in the city, a person was slightly injured. MDA teams are treating the injured.
Later, the Rambam Hospital said that 17 people were injured from the direct hit and were evacuated to the medical center - including a man and a woman in their 40s who are in serious condition from being hit by shrapnel, and were taken to surgery. Another 15 injured (including 3 police officers) are listed in mild condition, suffering smoke inhalation or anxiety, and they are under observation in the emergency department.
Tamra is an Arab city located in the Lower Galilee, approximately 20 kilometres (12 miles) east of Acre, with a population of 35,834 (as of 2022).
