Five reservists fell in battle in southern Lebanon
Major (Res.) Dan Maori, Captain (Res.) Alon Safrai, Warrant Officer (Res.) Omri Lotan, Warrant Officer (Res.) Guy Idan, and Master Sergeant (Res.) Tom Segal killed in action in Lebanon.


The IDF today (Friday) allowed publication that Maj. Dan Maury, 43, from Beit Yitzhak-Sha'ar Hefer, deputy commander of Battalion 89, Capt. Alon Safrai, 28, from Jerusalem, Maj. Omri Lotan, 47, from Bat Hefer. Major Guy Idan, 51, from Kibbutz Shomrat and Staff Sgt. Tom Segal, 28, from Ein HaBashor, fell in southern Lebanon.
The five soldiers who fell in battle were from the 89th Battalion. Channel 14 reports that the fighters were killed as a result of Hezbollah mortar shells that landed on the force.
In the incident in which the fighters fell, two reserve soldiers in Battalion 9203, the Alexandroni Brigade (3), a reserve soldier in the headquarters of the "Old Man" Brigade (8) and a reserve soldier in the 89th Battalion, the "Old Man" Brigade (8) were seriously wounded.
