Defense Minister Gallant decided to hold a situational assessment with senior defense officials to discuss efforts to get the remaining hostages out of Gaza today (Sunday).

The situational assessment is being conducted before a planned security cabinet meeting in the bunker of the Kiryah in Tel Aviv, likely to discuss multiple sensitive security issues, including the planned strike on Iran in retaliation for its missile strike on the country earlier this month.

One issue which is likely to factor into any decision to strike was the leakage of US satellite imagery of Israeli preparations for a possible strike to an Iran-affiliated Telegram channel, the cause of which remains under US investigation.
