Israel-Gaza War

"I hope she clarifies her words": Knesset Chairman responds to Harris' seeming endorsement of Gaza "genocide"

The Knesset Chairman made these comments following a viral video showing the Vice President saying that a heckler's accusations of Israeli genocide are "real."

In an interview for Army Radio today (Sunday), Knesset Chairman Amir Ohana said that Vice President Harris' implication that Israel is committing genocide is "unfortunate and worrying." Ohana said that he hoped she would clarify her words and did not understand why she didn't protest the "absurd" accusation.

While giving a campaign speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Vice President Kamala Harris was heckled by a pro-Palestinian protestor asking her about the "billions" going to fund a "genocide" in Gaza.

At first, Harris repeatedly reminded the protestor that "I'm speaking now" and said "I want the ceasefire, I want the war to end."

But after the heckler was removed, she said "Listen, what he’s talking about...It’s real. That’s not the subject that I came to discuss today, but it’s real and I respect his voice."
