In a precision ground operation in southern Lebanon, the IDF 8th Brigade Combat Team "Hazaken" and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, operating under the 91st Division, have successfully neutralized four significant Hezbollah underground facilities.
The operation targeted terrorist infrastructure, resulting in the destruction of over 50 access shafts and subterranean networks, which were hidden under civilian structures, including mosques and schools. The IDF soldiers also uncovered a substantial weapons cache containing hundreds of enemy armaments, dismantled numerous terrorist installations, and neutralized multiple hostile combatants.
The brigade's engineering corps, Yahalom and the Northern Command's engineering unit used more than 100 tons of explosives to destroy destroy underground passages. A key discovery was an underground command center belonging to Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force. This housed weapon storage areas, long-term living quarters, motorized equipment, ammunition stockpiles, and other operational resources.
The surrounding area yielded an extensive array of weapons and military equipment. Among the items discovered were land mines, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles, hand grenades, RPG launchers, machine guns, AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and advanced communication, targeting, and surveillance devices.
