The United States Treasury Department announced today (Tuesday) that the US and Canada will be sanctioning Samidoun, a major charity affiliated with the PFLP terrorist group. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller called it a "sham charity" meant to raise money for terrorists.

Samidoun had previously been sanctioned and effectively banned from Germany on the same grounds.

According to NGO Monitor, "Samidoun branches, including in Western countries, publicly support and celebrate the PFLP, its actions and its leaders, campaign for the release of jailed PFLP members, and promote anti-Israel campaigns. Moreover, Samidoun advocates for Palestinians’ “natural right to armed resistance.”
