According to a report in the Associated Press on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is examining the Generals' Plan and considering implementing it in the northern Gaza Strip.
As part of the Generals' Plan conducted by Maj. Gen. Giora Eiland, the northern Gaza Strip will be purged of residents and humanitarian aid will be stopped, with residents only gradually returned when the area is under Israeli civilian control. This is for the purpose of thoroughly cleansing Hamas terrorists and removing their control over humanitarian aid.
The report, alongside the military operation that recently began in the northern Gaza Strip, is causing a storm in the Arab world for fear that Israel has begun to implement it in practice.
In recent weeks, the IDF has resumed forceful action in the northern Gaza Strip and ordered residents of the area to evacuate south. Reuters reported this morning that IDF forces had advanced as part of the raid in the northern Gaza Strip to northern Gaza City and called on residents to evacuate.
The newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat claimed that the operation in the northern Gaza Strip paved the way for Israel's decision to prepare the northern Gaza Strip for the implementation of the Generals' Plan. "Those who choose to remain in the northern Gaza Strip will be considered Hamas operatives, they can be attacked militarily, and punitive measures will be taken against them, including withholding humanitarian aid until they die of starvation," the Saudi newspaper said.
