Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an orientalist and lecturer at Bar-Ilan University, spoke this morning (Monday) about the drone attack of the military base near Binyamina which killed 4 soldiers, seriously wounded 7, and lightly wounded dozens.

Dr. Kedar explained how in his opinion Hezbollah managed to accurately target the military base. According to him, there are at least two reasons why this happened. The first is the fact that IDF soldiers use social networks, which allows Hezbollah to track the phones and reveal their location.

The second reason, which Dr. Kedar harshly criticized, is the fact that the IDF sometimes employs contractors, while there is not enough scrutiny regarding who the employees of those contractors are.

"Today, catering at many IDF bases is provided by an external source," Keidar explained. "I mean contractors, I mean workers who come from all kinds of places – who can tell all kinds of stories to all kinds of people," he said.

He stressed: "Contractors work inside IDF bases and you don't know who they employ. Ostensibly, there is some kind of security check – in practice there is none."
