The Magen David Adom organization has published its annual summary of Yom Kippur events and announced that during the fast, emergency teams were called to nearly 3,000 incidents across the country, and almost 2,000 people were evacuated to hospitals.
The paramedics and medics of MDA and the emergency organizations were called during the fast to numerous calls of various types, and as every year, they summarize the events of the last day. MDA emergency teams were called to treat 2,842 people across the country, with 1,969 of them needing evacuation to hospitals for various reasons.
According to Magen David Adom data, during the fast, teams were called to hundreds of cases where fasters felt unwell, with at least 286 of them fainting and feeling unwell and needing further treatment. 261 additional people required medical treatment due to injuries from riding bicycles, rollerblading, scooters, and skateboarding, of whom 6 were in moderate condition and 255 in light condition.
About 40 people were injured during the fast across the country as a result of violent incidents. A 41-year-old man was evacuated to the hospital while undergoing resuscitation in critical condition, and his death was pronounced at the hospital. Additionally, across the country, one person was in serious condition, four in moderate condition, and 34 in light condition.
42 people were injured in traffic accidents across the country, including 11 in moderate condition and 31 in light condition.
During the fast, the teams were also called to evacuate 146 mothers to the hospitals. A woman from Modiin Illit gave birth with the help of MDA staff in an ambulance on her way to the hospital.
