The French newspaper Le Monde, considered to have well-established connections in the White House, reports that according to sources, President Biden gave Israel the green light to dismantle Hezbollah.

After joint security assessments by the US Pentagon with senior IDF and Defense Ministry officials, and after Prime Minister Netanyahu's conversation with President Biden last night, the president was persuaded to give Israel "the necessary time" to dismantle Hezbollah's capabilities.

The French publication reports that the US Department of Defense has been under the impression over the past few weeks that Israel's (alleged) moves against Hezbollah over the past few weeks, such as blowing up Hezbollah's beepers (according to foreign reports) and eliminating the organization's leadership, including Hassan Nasrallah, have created an unprecedented opportunity to dismantle Hezbollah's military capabilities without deteriorating into a full-scale war.
