The IDF announced Tuesday morning that the 146th Reserve Division has joined the fighting in Lebanon. The fighters began a focused and delimited ground operation against Hezbollah targets in the western sector of southern Lebanon.

It is the first reserve division to be used in the fighting in southern Lebanon as part of Operation Northern Arrows. During the past year, the division headquarters functioned as a regional defense division and its forces were recruited for various combat missions in the north, Gaza and Judea and Samaria.

The forces are currently operating under the support of artillery forces of the 213th "Resurrection" Brigade and other forces, in order to expose and destroy enemy infrastructure. The division joins three other divisions already operating on the ground in Lebanon over the past week.
