Police arrested two suspects over the weekend in the gang rape of a foreign national. This is a joint investigation between Lev Tel Aviv police officers and the Oz police station in Jerusalem, and it led to the arrest of the two on the same day they received the complaint.

On Friday, a police complaint was received from a foreign national about a rape that occurred at night. It is suspected that the victim met with one of the suspects she knew earlier at a club in Tel Aviv, and at the end of the night he offered to give her a ride home. The two suspects drove the victim to another location, where they forcibly committed serious sexual offenses against her and giving her a drink that clouded her senses. As soon as the complaint was received by the police, an investigation was opened and within a few hours, the officers were able to identify the suspects.

The suspects, residents of East Jerusalem, aged 25 and 26, were detained for interrogation on suspicion of rape and conspiracy to commit a crime, and their detention was extended by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court until today (Tuesday) in order to continue the necessary investigative activities. The police will ask to extend their detention again for interrogation purposes.
